Worm Bin Bag
So, I have been researching vermicomposting over the last few weeks. I would really like to set something up in my home pretty soon and get some nice worm castings for the SFG in the spring.
While researching worm bins, I came across this DIY Worm Bin Bag.
Has anyone else seen or used something similar? I've seen the posts about how to make worm bins from rubbermaid containers, but I think the bag looks like an interesting idea too.

I have never seen anything like that, but I am absolutely fascinated. Please let us know how it works out!

Re: Worm Bin Bag
I'm still debating if I should make a Worm Bin Bag or just buy a Worm Chalet. I know I definitely want to get me some wormies though!

Re: Worm Bin Bag
I'm building a worm bin system over the weekend, following the instructions I found here:
http://ezinearticles.com/?DIY-Vermicomposting---A-Worm-Farm-on-a-Budget&id=1893518
With my bins from WalMart, the spigot from amazon, and worms from http://www.unclejimswormfarm.com/index.php/Live-Worms/View-all-products.html
plus free newspaper bedding, free clean jars for spacers, I hope to get the whole thing done in about 3-5 hours, and about $40.00
I've never seen anything like this bag idea; does the writer give an explanation of why a bag instead of a bin? How is the 'worm tea' drained out?

From what I understand from another site with instructions for the Worm Bin Bag it is easier to remove the castings when they're ready. Apparently, you just open the bottom of the bag and remove the castings. I imagine you would have to coax the worms up to the top of the bag with a tasty meal first. As for the worm tea, the bag is made from fabric, so I would guess that any liquid would just drip out the bottom into the bin that is placed underneath.
I have not researched this concept a lot yet, but that is what I have read so far.
