Tomato question
Does anyone know why the skins of my tomatoes seem "tougher" this year than they usually do? I have all Early Girl (since I fried my heirloom seedlings in the cold frame in the spring by accident! ).

Re: Tomato question
I don't have enough experience with heirlooms to know, sorry. I have read here and there that some people do not care for Early Girl, though -- they describe them as more like a supermarket tomato. Hearsay as far as I'm concerned; I've never tasted one.

I LOVE Early Girl! They produce so well for me and are very disease resistant. Flavour is great but like I said, I killed all my heirlooms so have nothing to compare to except supermarket tomatoes. My Early girl toms are wayyyyy better than any supermarket ones we have here.
