Corn smut! *sobs*
I'm trying to hard to grow sweet corn, as they don't really *do* corn here...I went out this afternoon and saw one ear that looked funny....it's infected with corn smut!
I *so* hope that the other stalks aren't infected...it would break my heart.
And yes, I know that huitlacoche (at least that SOUNDS better) is a delicacy in Mexican kitchens, but you can have mine, thanks.

Corn smut
We have had smut in our corn now and then. It doesn't usually affect all of the ears. It showed up on one ear this year even though the ear had only a few kernels that pollinated.
I hope you get a nice harvest from the rest.
