Saturday forum maintenance
This is from Typlo who is 'the big cheese' in France and is the face of the forumotion system. (they're working on a Saturday?! )
I think they'll be starting at midnight Friday night EST. Daylight savings time messes me up. Can anybody confirm? Anyhow, it's close!
There's been no hint as to what they are up to, or if we'll be able to see any changes.

Re: Saturday forum maintenance
Hi, Boff --
Some of the IT companies do work in France...everyone else is at the grocery store. I'm most impressed that they're working tomorrow, though -- the kids' last day of school was today, and EVERYONE is headed off on vacation. (Except the ones coming to my 4th of July party, that is!)
Anyway... 7:00AM Paris time is 1 AM EST, so 11:00 AM is therefore 5 AM EST...happily this means most of y'all back stateside won't be affected!

Thanks for the correction/confirmation. Will you be providing the fireworks at your party? |
Re: Saturday forum maintenance
We'll have to see who's still awake by nightfall (it doesn't get dark here til nearly 11pm in the summertime) -- and how much we want to annoy the neighbors!

4th in France
Our older daughter was an exchange student in France, and she was in Cannes for the Fourth of July back in the late 1990's. She said the city gave the best Fourth of July celebration she'd ever seen. US Navy ships came in to port, and the city of Cannes gave them an annual celebration in tribute to their aid in saving the city in WWII.
Of course it was a mother's nightmare, thinking about my teenage daughter sitting on the beach and dancing in the streets with all those sailors in a town where wine can be purchased in 5 liter jugs! (And they wonder why my hair turned gray.)
