Hey, that's awesome. I saw the first pic, and I wondered if you would have enough sun. But it looks like everything is doing great! Thanks for the pics.

Yes the sun moves as the day progresses, and as it gets closer to summer the area gets full sun. Right now only the row closest to the brick wall is not getting full sun. I planted my carrots and lettuces there since it's cooler. I'm not sure if my plants will survive the 120 summer heat we get, but I can't complain, I get to garden year around.

Hi beagle! All your stuff looks great! I'm jealous with that weather, but 120 may be a little rough; we're still debating when we will be safe from ice/snow/cold to put anything in the ground here. Keep up the great work!

Looks wonderful. It seems you are making great use of an otherwise difficult to use space in the yard. I am intrigued by the tomatillo plants and hope they turn out well for you. I would like to try them this year or next as I am a big fan of verde sauces and using some of the tomatillos in my cooking for a sour component.

I'm jealous too, it was 75 here yesterday in AR and tonight/tomorrow there is a winter weather advisories in the state, crazy huh??? Your beds look great. I just built my first ones last year and can't wait to get them planted this year. I started some seeds today, indoor of course.

I have so many friends on the quilting board I'm not sure who, since you are not using your usual board name?
We'll both learn here together.
I think this site will be very helpful to me and lots of others.
I'm still learning all the time.
My tenthouse is now home to some seeds and I hope to see some germinate soon, if only the cold snap can hold off a little longer. We're going to get days in the 30s again next week. Brrrrrrr.

Yup, that's me.., the one who bombarded you with gardening questions a few months back! So far so good. Icon_biggrin

This is my first yr of gardening in any way, shape or form, and I believe that SFG is the way to go!
I have my lumber, most of the mixture (except for the compost), some seed packets, and lots of energy to get this going. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to get Mother Nature going, but that's alright I guess.

I am excited to hear from you on this board....so much good advice here.

So here is the update on my garden. Visuals are always better than words. I do have one question How can my green beans be flowering if they are only about 1-2 feet tall? Will the flower turn into a green bean? If so I don't think the plant will hold it up.

Like many, I won't see my garden looking that green for months yet.
It must be great living in Calif where you can grow things year round.
Except for the heat, drought, fires and eathquakes, I'd love living there.
The flowers of plants DO turn into the veggie so your flowers are future beans. The bean will continue to grow upwards and produce new flowers as it grows.

LOL Quilt Bea. I live in Southern California, I live in what is considered a desert do summers are very hot (Palm Springs Area). Probably won't be growing much during that time; when you guys will be seeing green my stuff will probably all be dead!! Oh yeah I live a few miles from the San Andrea's Fault, a major fault found in California. Although we have extremely hot summers we have beautiful weather all other months of the year. I hope to see your pics when my stuff is all dead and gone Smile

The bean plant will continue to grow. If you pinch off the blossom you will have no beans.
