New to SFG and in Virgina
We just moved to Virginia last year and made a fantastic new garden in our new house, and filled it with awful soil. After a year of very bad growing, we are digging it all out and replacing it with Mel's mix and converting all my planter boxes to SFG beds. I can't wait, I've planted some of the early items so far, and already there is a huge difference!
So, a question I had, that I can't really find an answer for is how many Broccolini can I put in a SF? Anyone out there try that?
Thanks!
Tobi

Welcome to the forums from Ohio! Glad to have you here. For questions about SFG, be sure to check out the search link on the top left corner of this page. For Broccolini, it brought up this thread:

But, to answer your question, the seed packet says to thin to 12" to 24" apart, which would mean one per square.

Tobi, Welcome to the Forum from California. I'm glad your early plantings are growing well.
I don't know how tall your beds and fill are. If they are taller than 8", you can leave some dirt as lower fill and just top off with 6-7" of Mel's Mix.
When All New Square Gardening first made its appearance, tall beds were unusual. The SFG Foundation has since addressed this issue by recommending topsoil (decent draining dirt) or washed sand as stable lower fills.
