I have been square foot gardening for about 6 years in central Alabama. I just moved last year and have started setting up my new garden. I have more room than before so I am making my beds a little larger so I can add more variety of plants and try new things. Just wanted to say thanks for the welcome and look forward to learning more.

Hi, Frank Welcome to the Forum from California! glad you\'re here You will have to share your new journey. We love photos!

When you say larger beds, do you mean longer? What was the size of your old beds?

My old beds were 4x10x6inches deep . I had problems with squash and  zucchini running over into the yard. I am trying 2 beds 10x5x8inches deep. I have one bed that is 10x10x8inches deep that I plan to make a walkway down the middle. I also have one 2x10x16inches deep for carrots and potatoes. I have a 4 foot space between the beds I have already mulched. Everything is made from cedar. Once I get everything set up I will try to add pictures. Just planted carrots, salad greens, spinach, collards, radishes, cabbage and swiss chard today in the 2 beds I have ready.
