Blast to the past
Tonight around dusk I added some fish emulsion to my plants. I was working with some bird netting when the smell reminded me of when I lived in Gloucester MA in 1973/74. And working with the nest made me think of the fishermen. And when the net was hopelessly tangled and I started cursing like a sailor I had come full circle!

Re: Blast to the past
Exactly, although I am happy at this time to be in California and indulge in a year round garden. I am way too impatient to wait around all winter (which in Gloucester so often doesn't end until Memorial Day as you know). But, I no longer get the wafting of Gorton's through the yard!
I was there last June and felt very badly for everyone - the wettest June since like 1895 or something. Hard to get those tomatoes happy. Did you have a garden last summer?
