I have some four seasons lettuce that I am going to put out. As well as broccoli which I have already started and will transplant soon. Mustard Greens and Collard Greens, too.sanderson wrote:Stealth, Are you thinking of any cool weather plants, also?

Nice!
You can direct sow carrots, turnips, radishes, beets, of course lettuce , and spinach. Swiss Chards, mache is good to overwinter....but that would be later....
Looking good!

If the next two or three weeks cooperate, you could have a very successful garden. End of July planted seeds tend to rocket out of the ground has long the heat doesn't get to oppressive.
Found this when I looked for 45-60 day veggies.

Good luck!

This Morning's Harvest
This morning's harvest. I was concenred that I would not have enough time for my squash and cucumbers to grow, but that seems to not be the case. These are the first of my squash to mature, and the first of MANY(15+) cucumbers on my four cuke plants. I have four more squash that should be ready in a couple of days, and about 10+ more that are just now starting to form. All off of 2 plants!!!!!
The tomatoes and peppers both came from the plot that my Father-in-law planted back in March, and I have too many Cherry tomatoes to use. I am getting 30+ a day, from 2 plants.

Finally Back!
Seems like I’ve been gone for almost a year. Good to see so many folks still around and tell you what’s changed with me.
We downsized and are living in a house but no garden and it may take a year BUT sold my house to my son and family and can still use the garden next year. We only live 1.5 miles apart but now I can tend to the garden and play with my two grandchildren.
Keep me posted on what I’ve missed

Getting Ready
As the title states, I am getting ready for this years garden. I had so much fun and learned so much last year that I am ready to tackle SFG for another year. Beds laid out, covers off, compost in, ready to plant. So far this year I have direct sowed three kinds of peas (Alaska, Little Marvel, and Sugar Snap), De Cicco broccoli, and Long Island Brussels Sprouts.
Of course, I made the mistake of starting indoors a little too early (missing the green growing things) So I have Six kinds of peppers, four varieties of tomatoes, some eggplant, and cataloupe started. Well, not exactly started.....I planted my peppers on 1/18 and I am picking off flowers to promote more leaf growth. Pics will be added later.
Oh, and one more thing. I took a couple of cutting off of my Big Bertha Pepper last year before i shut down the garden for the year, and have had them over wintering in my office. Already have two good size peppers on it so far. As always, pics will follow.

Stealth, Do you mean you cut a branch of a pepper plant and rooted it? If so, very interesting.stealthmayhem wrote:Oh, and one more thing. Re: Just Completed my Garden.....What Should I Plant NOW!
I too started too early with some seeds. I had never planted zucchini, cantaloupe, squash, or watermelon from seed indoors and learned a valuable lesson: don't start zucchini indoors too early and, when planting seeds, plant from the get-go in a larger container. In one week, the seeds had sprouted and were almost root bound in a 6-cell. I'm going to transplant the zucchini into a huge pot on my patio in hopes that I can keep a closer watch for the borers. I'll take a chance on planting the squash in the SFG bed.

For the first year, especially, notes are great. At the end of the season, it makes for good reading and help in planning the following spring garden.

Definitely. I Have pulled two peppers of so far. I have also taken five more cuttings off the same plant, but only 3 survived. But, so far, so good.
