Ok, how about this:
Let's follow Trolleydriver's lead and post our most interesting or weird SFG box, bag, bucket or whatever. 'Interesting' and 'weird' are open to your own interpretation.

Re: June Avatar: Inside the Box
To me this lettuce box is weird because there are potatoes and onions that I didn't plant growing up throughout it.
Color me grateful tho because the 12 potatoes that I DID plant, in a different box, sprouted only one plant.

But it's so interesting. Besides, you could always change the avatar as the box develops if you feel like it.

Re: June Avatar: Inside the Box

With all this rain I have not been tending the boxes so I was looking around for pics of the boxes but i settled on this one its the asparagus ferns in full growth shining with the morning dew. The rain is depressing but misty drops on the ferns in teh morning sun shine like jewels and always make me smile.

Are they really in a box or on the loose? Beautiful!Cajun Cappy wrote:

Finally got Photoshop installed on this computer so I can process photos. Mine is multiple boxes from last year's build of the Salad Bar.countrynaturals wrote:I'm still working on this one.sanderson wrote:I like the avatar idea for June. Thanks.

This is one of my brassica 4x4s (really half a 4x8), interplanted with scallions. I don't have my tulle up yet - I only finally moved the frame off last year's brassica 4x4, so I could get my bean poles up. I put a big beetle on the kale because I'm me.

RE: June Avatar: Inside the Box
This 3' X 3' box started out for potatoes and they were doing good, then there appeared a small tomato plant "a freebie" well like a cow bird laying her egg in another birds nest then the baby cow bird pushes the smaller birds out of the nest to reduce competition the freebie grew the potato plants died but at least the cherry tomatoes are good

Does that mean the potatoes are ready to be harvested?

RE: June Avatar: Inside the Box
Yes I did get a few the biggest being about 3" and I will replant again for the Fall I'm hooked on fresh potatoes now, My tomatoes are starting to slow down with the heat, I'm recording in the high 90*s in my garden now so I will be pulling suckers off to replant in the fall.

Ok, here is my unusual garden box. It is a Box Blade that was used for our now out of service tractor.

Nice boxes everyone. I think I take a pic of my kids' 2 by 2 boxes. They're cute, and we can move them around to catch the sun.

Here is my daughter's SFG, which is on my driveway. She is growing corn, tomatoes (that she rescued as seedlings- I was going to throw them out), and strawberries. Her SFG has a plywood bottom with holes in it.Mimi2 wrote:Nice boxes everyone. I think I take a pic of my kids' 2 by 2 boxes. They're cute, and we can move them around to catch the sun.

It's adorable, Mimi! And looks nicely productive. I love the color.
Wonder why it's sideways in you avatar and not here...? Another mystery of the photo program.
