Creative trellis ideas??
I have been doing a lot of searching online for creative trellis ideas for my cucumbers as a fun focal point in the garden and for my kids to enjoy after seeing the post of the giant pvc trellis. I am debating between a long arch from either bamboo or the cattle fencing to make a large tunnel or the teepee. This year I am going to put them off to the side of my SFG's. Have any of you done anything fun? Any good pictures? What worked or what didn't? Please share! I would love more ideas.
Here are some ideas that I have found online.

Re: Creative trellis ideas??
Josh did an awesome cucumber custom trellis! Search for "Holy Trellis" and it should come up.
Re: Creative trellis ideas??
I think I am going to go with the arch from the cattle panel. It seems to be the easiest and best space saver. I saw some great pics online of people that put them between the raised beds, but mine won't fit that way.
Question though. Do you know if you plant your seeds on the outside edge of the trellis or the inside edge. I saw it both ways in different pics. I am not sure why you would plant them on the inside........

Re: Creative trellis ideas??
I am planning on planting mine on the outside. Mine just got finished a few days ago, and I will post pictures soon.
What was suggested to me is to use twine for the netting. Since it is biodegradable, I can cut it down and throw it in the compost, rather than worry about untangling all the plants at the end of the season.

Doggie?
Hi Martha . . . this is certainly off the subject at hand . . . but what kind of dog is that in your avatar? We have a mixed breed that looks just like him, only more red. Everyone says Chow/Golden mix . . .
