As someone who lives in a desert climate that is FASCINATING! Thank you so much for posting it. I would also add deep mulching with wood chips and the soil underneath would be moist, more fertile and teeming with life. It's a great idea, I'm going to go check if they're available and for how much. Thanks has55

Looks good for small saplings like Audrey is planting (poplar), and at least they are reusable each year. I think the concept is sound for dry climates.

looks like they'll last about 20 yrs from what I read.
