Huntsville Ontario - Community Garden
While vacationing in the Muskoka Region of Ontario, Mrs TD and I discovered a community garden near the waterfront in the Town of Huntsville.
What I found interesting was the use of many different materials for edging the beds and for trellises (including a brass headboard). Most of the garden does not appear to be successful but there are a few brights spots. What is clear to me is that the people involved could use training in Square Foot Gardening.
BTW, I think the word "Klahanie" means "Great Outdoors".
I've posted a link to a slide show below.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like the beds are over 4' wide?? I bet you felt like re-making the place, holding classes. One looked like the person was row gardening in the bed, over seedling in rows. However, there were some artistic aspects to some of the beds.

Yes, very cool! I liked some of the more eclectic gardens. Those beds are wide, would have to walk on them. How is watering handled?

Re watering ... There was a plastic barrel (water?) in the back of the area. There was a watering can on the ground. Mrs TD now tells me there was a water tap outside the garden. Someone has what looks like a rain gauge in one of the beds. The whole thing looked really dry and poorly maintained. I could not help but think how much nicer are our SFGs.
