Of course it is rotting and will one day fall to bits.

By the way, is it his fence or yours? It could influence him if it is his to be able to take the leaves to save his fence.

It is his fence...but if I let it rot on the bottom...hmmm thinking

Truly, I am sure he would not mind at all. I just need to make the time.

If/when I get some of that, how/where would you store it?

In a compost pile.

You can use the fine stuff on the bottom straight away and make a compost pile with the whole leaves. Or crumble up the dry leaves a bit and use as mulch. Leaves are so precious and versatile.

Thanks for the replies.
I have plenty of leaves in my own yard so I don't think I would need his whole leaves.

As for the "fine stuff on the bottom", I was thinking that I could use my handy-dandy sifter and separate it out. Then I wondering how to store it. I didn't know if I should just put it in a pile on its own, add it to an existing compost pile, or store it in plastic bags or totes.
