Two eggs in the nest again with mom and pop taking turns keeping them warmed and turned. Hatching isn't to far away according to the eagle watch forum.

Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
I recently read where a single young eagle was checking out the nest from afar. Some believe it was E-8

Perhaps he wanted to go home to mom and dad and live in their basement? After all, he is still a kid for the next four years.
Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
I read today that one egg is moving.

Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
M15 is such a good mate and father. It is amazing to me that both the male and female are so adept in the nursery.
Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
Recent comments made on the eagles chat room indicate M15 was responsible for Ozzies death. The two eagle fought over control for Harriet..
I'm not doing anything out side gardenwise. Rye grass is still looking good, compost piles are quiet.

Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
Looks like E9 will be an only child. No neck-battles at feeding time.

I just checked on the site and I see one chick and one egg.

Thanks, sanderson; I did not read further. (My lazy letting others do the work

Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
E9 is looking healthy. Just starting to peck at the meals and fed himself a bit. Fuzzy little (big) thing.
Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
Checked on the eagle nest and see that Harriot is still sitting on one egg. Could she have laid another one to take the place of the nonviable one?
Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
I don't think she laid a third egg. I watched E9, or is it 10, trying to roll it. I keep checking on the web site.
Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
In past seasons I kept my computer glued to this nest in Florida, this year I havent even remembered it was there.
In past years when an egg was not doable, they simply disappeared. I believe there is a time frame an eagle egg must be fertilized, laid and hatched. Any time past this period has negative affects on the egg. I dont think an eagle can lay another egg after the time designated is over...maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
If Harriott did lay another egg, the resulting chick would be squashed by its elder sibling. I expect Harriot's hormones would be shut down while she concentrated on her one chick. He seems to be growing very quickly.
Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
Said "Good Morning" to Harriot and E9. He is getting to be almost as large as his mom. They are resting, with a large piece of fish still in the nest. I bet H is having an easier time looking after one chick.

Bon Voyage, E9.
Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
He still likes for mom and dad to feed him. He hasn't learned to fish yet. Wait, sounds like he still lives in his parent's basement.

Re: Eagle eggs ready to hatch in nest
I don't know if it is the camera angle or what but he looks huge compared to his parents.
