Knowing that they ARE high-maintenance, here is a starter pack for the caninus cultivar:

You'll see that there is a warning with these that they MAY contain mutts.  So it's possible that they are a hybrid variety.

But cute nonetheless!

This thread is hilarious. Thanks everyone for giving me a good laugh. Keep up the good work.

We have never grown any felinus but the neighbours have plenty to share with us. In fact they prefer to invade our garden rather than staying where they were originally planted. For many years we grew caninus but when our daughter got married and moved away she took it with her. We have always had a wide variety of sciuridae which grow wild and are like weeds all over the place. But these days we prefer to cultivate grandkidicus and in total we have seven of those wonders.

My felinii thrive in the same bed as a companion plant, Nepeta x faassenii, which also harbors beneficial insects.

Our felinii are hothouse variety, cannot live outdoors in our climate, but there is one local hearty felinicus which shares a bed with our helianthus.  Hopefully the helianthus forest will crowd out the local felinicus weed.

I'm so glad I peeked at this thread.  Got such a good laugh!

I have been nurturing a kidicus for 13 years.  At the moment, our kidicus is growing quite rapidly.

We also have been caring for felinii for about 9 years.

Also with us is a beautiful variety of grandmainae.  Ours is about 87 years old and quite vigorous at that.

Last summer, a friend gave me a division of catmint.

My Felinicus specimens thrived in its vicinity, as did the bees.

This year, it's gigantic, with  tentacles sprawling in all directions.  I just picked some leaves to dry and rub on a new, unused scratching post (their Christmas gift last year) in the hopes that the furniture will not continue to suffer.

AM, Cute photo. The way they are are laying around each other comfortably makes me think they are related, an extended family. A little spay and neuter might be in order. Very Happy

Marie, that is one of the funniest pictures I've seen in a while! It must take a lot of chocolate chip cookies to feed that many stoner cats!

Better remove those chocolate chips!  Chocolate is highly toxic to cats.

Maybe salmon patties instead?

Sometimes I think, like, that there's the cat and there's the mouse. That's the way it's always been. And then I realize, man, that we're all the mouse, you know? You may think you're the cat, but you're also the mouse, you know? To a bigger cat than you can see. But it's all perception man, you follow me? Really there is no cat, and there is no mouse. We're all just part of the universe looking at itself, man. And stop peeing on that, man, I was just going to eat that.
