White powdery spots
Can anyone identify what this might be?
My neighbor found these white, powdery deposits in their front and backyard garden. That just started showing up today. It's only showing up in certain places.
It's not appearing on their tomato or pepper plants, or on any grass, but is appearing in some places on concrete.
We wonder if it's some kind of fungus, but none of us have seen a fungus that seems to like concrete. It's been raining heavily here the last two days. We think it could be related to the weather.
They have not sprayed or scattered any chemicals near there.
It has no odor, and so far doesn't seem to be harming anything.

I get that same look when a flock of geese or gulls fly overhead and make a deposit while passing. Seems like they all let loose at the same time.

????
I'd pick a leaf or two & take it to your local extension agent first thing Monday morning!

Re: White powdery spots
My thought was bird poo. I have a very dense eucaylptus tree that a whole flock of birds are nesting in and it's right over a garden bed. The leaves look like this, but the concrete spots look more like bird poop with a dark spot in each. Maybe that's because they're dropping close range?
Re: White powdery spots
The leaves look like some of my veggies underneath where birds have taken to perching on my box hoops. It's a new problem for me.
Re: White powdery spots
I add to the 'bird poop' group. Looks like my sidewalk lately, now that EVERYTHING with wings has returned north for the summer.

Re: White powdery spots
I vote for bird poop. I get the same thing on the leaves in my lilac thicket, and some on my newly-refinished deck. My next-door neighbor maintains several bird-feeding stations.
Naturally, my cats visit the neighbors' yard frequently, although they almost never succeed in their hunting efforts.

I vote for our avian friends. It will be interesting what the extension says.
