Seeds Not Sprouting

Several of the seeds I've planted have not sprouted (well past the times outlined on the seed packets). How long should I wait before planting again?

What kind of seeds did not sprout? Maybe not enough moisture or the temp is not right. I know spinach takes a long to to sprout.

Are you planting outside or in flats? If it flats, make sure the temps are correct for what you are seeding and give enough water, but not too much. We've had a particularly cool spring here and things I've planted outside took twice as long to sprout as normal. I even dug up a bean to see what was going on -- it had sprouted but was just not pushing up -- a week later after several days of sun all the beans were up and thriving. So, depenidng on what you planted carefully dig one up and see what is going on.
