Greetings from SFGF Headquarters
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Melissa Barth, I am the current Executive Director of Square Foot Gardening Foundation. In the past the Foundation has not had an active role in the forum, but we now will be an active participant here. We will be here answering questions, sharing our experiences and learning from you all as well.
A little bit about us. During the past 6+ months the Foundation has embarked on a reorganization. We have had changes in management as well duties assigned. Each of the staff will be here from time to time. They will use this username and will sign their name at the end of each post so you know what staff member is communicating with you. The following are the staff members headquarters:
Jenny Gillespie - Community project manager. She will be the go to on different community projects, symposiums and various other community activities as well as handles customer service.
Bret Bellah - Production manager. He builds, ships and designs our product line.
Becky Hsu - Creative Director. Becky works behind the scenes working on the website, newsletter, social media and photography. She is the glue to the creative team.
Katie Mitcheltree - Creative Specialist. Katie works on our articles, newsletter, and assists Becky on other projects
Belinda Jensen - Certified Instructor Specialist. Belinda is the person that has worked closely with all our certified instructors and the certified instructor program.
Amie Hall - Certified Instructor Specialist. Amie works closely with Belinda with the certified instructors and the program. Her and Belinda are a great team and have done an amazing job with the program.
As for me, I am an accountant by trade. I deal with the financial aspects, community projects, and ensure that all aspects of the foundation is running smoothly.
Our Board of Directors are:
Rick Johnson - President. Rick has over 30 years of marketing experience and is very active in the day to day operations of Headquarters.
Larry Lester - Treasurer. Larry has over 30 years of business experience both here in the US as well as international.
We may be a small team and work really hard to ensure everything is running correctly. I couldn't do my job without each and everyone of these people.
I look forward to getting to know you all and participating in conversations.
Happy Gardening!
Melissa

Hosting a SFG Instructor's Class.
Howdy Melissa:
I am on the Board of Directors for the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park in Deltaville, Virginia. We have the desire, buildings and land to host a SFG Instructors Class of any size (2015 or later). Our pavilion is 8400 square feet in two wings and the museum is 5200 SF with a classroom. On the grounds we also have a Children's Garden. The museum and park are on 37 acres of land bordering Mill Creek where are docked various historical boats. Each year in July we host Family Boat Building Week and many other events year round. Two hotels are nearby as are a number of B&Bs and Brent and Becky's Bulbs. For more info about the museum and park go to deltavillemuseum.com/. We would love to host a SFG Instructor's Class.

Re: Greetings from SFGF Headquarters
Hi Melissa (and everyone else!). I'm glad you're all going to take a more active part in the forum.
Re: Greetings from SFGF Headquarters
Wardinwake,
We would love to have a class up there.
2015 is the year that we are going to start traveling. Currently Jenny is working on different areas that we could travel to. I will definatly look into that site and talk with you more in detail.

Re: Greetings from SFGF Headquarters
Everyone here is so excited to have a more active roll in the forum. I am not going to change how things are set up, it has been working great with the way it has been so far.
What we are looking at is bringing more activity into the forum and fresh new ideas.

The force is with us .. The foundation .
Melissa , it's good to hear that you exist and the hear of the roles you all perform.
Currently quite a few of us have very little computer time as our hands on ANSFG is taking almost every waking moment , well that and life in general.

I'm curious as to why there's so far been no response to the question about Mel's current role.

Re: Greetings from SFGF Headquarters
there hasn't been a response to Mel's role because at this point the foundation is not at liberty to discuss that topic. Once we have been cleared to issue a press release I will make sure that I post it here as well.
Sorry for being so vague right now but I will make sure everyone here is updated when I can.

Thank you Melissa for telling us this much. I've wondered ever since I noticed his blog abruptly stopped, at least the last time I looked.
