bnoles garden update 053114
Got a nice and much needed rain last night and thought I would do a garden photo tour this morning while everything was still fresh. As with nearly everyone, it got off to a slow start due to the weather, but appears to be coming along nicely now.

Gorgeous Bob. It was supposed to rain here Thursday afternoon so I didn't water. But it did not rain. It was supposed to rain here on Friday so I didn't water. But it didn't rain. It is supposed to rain here today but I gave up and watered. Lucky you to get the rain.
Looks like I see a lot of bean or summer peas growing. What kind are they. I also see some beans or pea pods hanging down from your vines. Is this just another shot of the same plants or are they different. Seems a little early for beans so they must be spring peas of some sort. ????

Thank you yolos. The pods are English peas hanging from the taller plants behind the bush beans. After the salads were pretty much done for, I replanted my table top SFG with more bush beans..... you can never have too may bush beans

Nicely done, Bob! Lucky you to have all those beans and peas growing and some rain to boot! I haven't seen hide nor hair of rain in probably two months.
Were those iris in the front of the last photo? They must have been stellar. You have any photos of them? Mine have yet to bloom.

Thanks for the nice comments.
CC.... the iris's are my wife's hobby and she has hundreds of them all over the yard, 40 varieties is what she is telling me. Here is a picture of our youngest grandson that shows several plants in bloom. They are really pretty when they are in bloom April-May.

Really pretty set up and the willow tree adds a magical touch to it all.
I'm not far from you, so we may share some similar weather.

Oh wowl, Bob! I don't know which is more spectacular, that adorable boy or the iris! I love the way his t-shirt matches the flowers he's standing next to.
Thanks for the photo!

Now maybe I can figure out what to plant next to my installed trellis. We found we couldn't harvest from the squares right next to it, but I see you have something like tomatoes, which could work for me.

No rain here for almost 3 weeks. 90 degree heat the early part of last week, then rain moved in 30 miles away on Thurs but all I got were clouds and 70 degree weather - low 55. Got some steady mist yesterday, but no rain. Beautiful blue skies today. BUT I NEED SOME RAIN! The week of upper 80s to lower 90s did a number on my bok choy. It all bolted. Lettuce turned bitter and I'll be lucky to get much in the way of peas. But the peppers, squash, eggplant, cukes and tomatoes were loving the heat. Then BAM, down to 55 degree lows again. ARGH, make up your mind Mother Nature.

THERE you are! I've been wondering where you've been, Bob!
Lucky you! You get the rain. It's just going around us...
How's the garden looking?

Sounds a lot like what happened where I live. Up into the high 90's then down into the low 40's. Many extremely healthy looking plants wound up looking very played out, and multiple rounds of seeds failed to germinate. Good luck on ... well, having better luck!

Lots of rain here in Minnesota. Farmers are having trouble getting in the crops. Creeks and rivers are high and low areas are flooding. Wonder if we could send some of this to you folks who are crying for rain.
Thankful that my MM is not sitting in a pool. Actually the garden is taking off with this rain. I'd be happy to share some of it with you though.

Your garden is just gorgeous! Makes me feel like moving south when I see it. I'm hooked on New England but you make Georgia look like a gardener's paradise.

WOW! Thanks you for those kind words Lyndeeloo. Living in GA is not without it's challenges though. Heat and humidity can be brutal.
