So, what do you do in your spare time!
Impressive planting.

LOL that was over several weeks - I started in February.
Oh, and in my spare time . . . I work part time at a nursery where I get to bring home "dead" or unsellable plants!

Re: Mid-At: What has everyone planted so far?
So where are your pictures? I would love to see your garden and how you have it laid out. I love that you are using different growing methods. I'm planning on doing the same thing as I expand my garden area. Evenually I want to have a BTE area along with my SFG beds, TT's and containers. I'm also considering Hügelkultur as well. I have been reading about it lately and I'm intrigued by it. Methods that mimic what occurs naturally without any help from anyone should make maintaining a garden easier. Sometimes our so-called improvements just end up causing us more work or making the work harder. How long have you had the Hügelkultur garden? Do you like it and what pros/cons have you noticed so far?
Btw, great bonus to your spare time work lol. Part of my strawberry plants were given to me by the local nursery where I bought my fig trees and kumquat tree from last year. They had some dying plants left at the end of the season and told me to take whatever I wanted.
You really should post some pics and show off all of that hard work.

Wow Kim - that sounds wonderful!!! What a great start to the season.
I wanted to let you know that I was the one who stopped by your booth at the Home and Garden show at the fairgrounds. The red romaine, speckles lettuce, and russian kale that I got from you are doing BEAUTIFULLY!! They are all simply gorgeous and just about ready for picking
We have had lots of warm weather (although wet), and the forecast looks fine, so I have officially transplanted everything to my little beds!

Hi Kim:
You certainly are lucky to be working a a nursery!
You have a huge selection of gardening.
I have planted all my seeds and plants for now:
1) 4 x 4 Box:
Pole Beans 2 rows with trellis in between the rows
Along edge in boxes with Pole Beans: small white turnips, radishes and
beets
Zucchini - Black Beauty
Lettuce - Black Seeded Simpson, Buttercrunch, Marvielle Butterhead
Swiss Chard
2) 4 x 4 Box:
Easy Peasy Peas - 2 rows with trellis in between the rows
Carrots in one row of Hat Box - Scarlett Nantes and Sugar Snax
Lettuce - Red Salad Bowl, Yugoslavian Red, Burpee Bibb and Buttercrunch
3) 4 x 4 Box:
Corn - Bantam
4) 4 x 10 box:
Tomato - Celebrity, Riensentraube, and Tomato Steak
Pepper - Sweet Cabernet Hybrid
Cucumber and Pumpkin along the trellis
Garlic - Late Italian, Red Russian and Polish White
5) 2 boxes each 2 x 6:
Potatoes - Kennebeck
I have grew potatoes once before several years ago, so I decided to try again.
The past years I have had issues with cats/dogs depositing in my gardens that are located outside my fenced in area. Hubby was kind enough to make me a cage that fits over the box they frequented!

Doesn't it just blow your mind how much you can grow in a SFG?
