Hello from Canada
Hello All,
I am writing from Alberta, Canada. I have an information website, www.aionora.org, dedicated to disseminating as much food production information as possible. I am taking the SFG instructor's course this month.
I plan to make my SFG box from re-used fence boards (the paint has been planed off).
I ALSO plan to NOT plant beets or radishes. YUCK. I am gong to have A LOT of carrots and fingerling potatoes. YUMMY!!!! And what is WITH all the lettuce??? I am planting more tomatoes. Lettuce is not that interesting anyway.
Soooo...I'll probably see you guys in class. Toodels.

Re: Hello from Canada
Hi Celeste. Welcome!
Everybody's got their own things they like or don't like. I don't like asparagus, but enjoy reading about others' experiences. Also don't grow bell pepper.
But my students might. As an instructor, it's good to have the info for your students even if you don't plan on using it for yourself.
You'll have fun with the class. I just finished a couple of weeks ago.

Re: Hello from Canada
to the forum, I live not too far from you. Hear you got some SNOW last night..... SHEESSH will this winter never end.
I never grow radishes either. spinach grows well this time of year.
I love my carrots in the SFG, I leave them in the bed in the fall, cover the bed with cardboard and once a month or so, go and dig through the snow, and get a bucket of carrots (great to have fresh veggies in the middle of winter in the Great White North)
