This weekend we are putting out leeks, chard, carrots, bok choy, lettuce, radishes, spinach, snazp peas and beets. We hope the weather will cooperate. My Dr. has decided that next week is the perfect time for knee replacement so I don't know about all the many, many tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos and eggplant that will be ready May 11. I know I won't but hopefully maybe I can plant later and salvage something. Three years ago I got to decide so things have really changed. Sad

My sweet husband had knee surgery last fall and it wasn't particularly successful so a knee replacement is on the agenda (no date yet).  My heart goes out to you - it's no fun, but when they work it's miraculous  Very Happy

Do you have a young friend that would be willing to plant them for you?  We're blessed to have quite a few young men and families in our church that are very helpful when we need physical labor.  Small town rural living has its perks!

Good luck,
Audrey

Wish I could come out & help you, John.  Neighbors/kids available to help?  Maybe if they knew you'd share the bounty...?

All the best on you surgery!

Good luck, johnp. I've talked to some people who got joint replacements and were thrilled with the results, so you may have good things coming your way soon.

Thanks all. This one will be two out of two so I have a little experience. What made me so mad as I started this last summer with shots which helped through the summer and fall and then went back for tests etc. and its taken this long of a wait. Winter's are for this kind of stuff not spring and summer. I will be calling everyone I know who gardens to trade tomatoes and peppers for help in may. I should be fine if I can keep my plants alive. The dog sitter doesn't water very well.
