San Antonio here we come
My family and I will be moving to San Antonio in a couple of weeks and we are very excited. I started out SFG here in southwest Georgia/Southeast Alabama. and have transitioned to using 5 Gal buckets due to renting and needing to be portable. It also seems to allow me to maintain moisture better when the heat is up (Self watering buckets). San Antonio looks to be in zone 9 or transitioning from 8b to 9. What will I be able to plant in Mid May that will do well in San Antonio.

Cpt. Stadler, Welcome to the Forum. Someone from your area can provide more specific information. www.gardenate.com/zones is a good site to check out. Meanwhile, this is what I can mostly direct seed or plant seedlings now. I'm in a 8b-9a zone. https://squarefoot.forumotion.com/t11738-aprilwhat-we-coulda-shoulda-plantedto-plant-in-northern-california-and-central-valley-areas?highlight=northern+california
PS You can also add mulch to help with moisture retention.

Re: San Antonio here we come
Hi Cpt. Stadler. Sorry you're leaving us in GA. I spent a sentence in Killeen, TX at Ft. Hood. But I've heard San Antonio is much better!
I know SA is further south than Ft Hood, so I would expect even more humidity and higher temps. And it was terrible at Hood. So make sure you plan for some shade of some sort for your plants in the afternoons.
But Sanderson's right - someone from that area will help you with more specifics.
Have fun! Be safe. Talk with you soon.
