I am curious to see if anyone in our region is able to get goodies for their St. Patties Day from their gardens.  Our region is pretty big so maybe we have a few...as for me I will be having to go to the store to get a rainbow of fruit and vegs. I make up a rainbow on my kids plates to celebrate. How about you guys what are you up to?

Nothing from this year yet but we still are eating vegetables we put up from last years garden. We don't celebrate St Patty's day but the following day is my older son's birthday. We seem to be celebrating that tonight though with a leg of home grown lamb and baked potatoes with home grown pesto sauce and home grown green beans.

Is there a meaning in the rainbow besides beauty and nutrition?

I focus on the rainbow with the pot of gold at the end of it for St. Patties Day. My kids love seeing all the different types of fruits and vegs in all the colors on their plates and if they eat all of them then a leprecon(sp) might just leave some gold coins for them while they are out playing. Its just something fun that I do, granted my kids are 6 and 3 and their grandparents are part Irish. My older son has for the past two years tried to catch the leprecon(sp) to get more gold out of him Shocked  rofl Its fun to see the traps he comes up with...
