New to list and new to starting seeds indoors

Hi! I'm located in SE Ohio, about 12 miles east of Athens and probably 12 miles west of Parkersburg, WV. I was wondering when our last frost date was so I get the timing right on starting my seeds indoors. I'm trying to grow/raise most of my food to avoid GMO's and all the horrible stuff in the grocery stores now a days. Rolling Eyes

For determining your USDA Hardiness Zone, this is a good site as well.

I have found the following site to be handy, in case the other ones above don't have specific dates for your intended crop:

If you want to calculate which date it would be in X days, say, to "plant seed inside, 5 to 7 weeks before outdoor transplant", you could go to their next page:

I agree with you about how scary it can be, not knowing what might be in the conventional stuff at the grocery stores. (I must admit, sometimes I 'put my head in the sand' and not think about it all--that is, when I can't put my hands in the Mel's Mix. Smile
