Kansas City Metro Folks:

Hello everyone, hope everyone is enjoying this lovely freezing weather. I need some help pointing me in the right direction -- I am in need of approximately 20 cubic yards of compost for new garden beds I'm putting in. I recall in my research in the past that there was a company that would not only deliver it, but also had a skid loader type deal that they would deliver it to the exact spot(s) that you needed it -- but for the life of me I cannot recall the company name and can't find it on the internet anymore.

I'm not really interested in delivery to the curb, because with 20 cu yards, it would take me about a year to move it the 100 feet into the back yard.

Thoughts?

I've been on Craigslist Kansas City looking for compost items the last few years and don't recall ever coming across anyone who delivers bulk compost.

KAT Nursery in Olathe carries Redbud Compost manufactured in OK...it is good stuff but I think it is bagged...not sure if you can order it in bulk and pay to have it delivered in place or not.

I don't think it is Missouri Organics -- because I recall seeing a specific page dedicated to their little front loader deal that they unload off the truck, and charge you by the load of the front loader.  It's one of those mini tractor deals...and I haven't been able to find it on their site.

Service discontinued??

Don't you hate losing sight of something?  I lost my Book Marks when I got the new hard drive.

I found who I had been looking for -- and now I remember why I had forgot about them -- they're pretty expensive!  Smile

The pic of their compost material still has sticks and stuff in it...looks like you would need consider finishing the composting process yourself or screen the material before using it in your SFG.  Their site says the compost is made from yard waste and horse manure...you would want to blend with compost from other sources to increase diversity.
