Frames for covers

Today we built PVC frames for plastic covers for for 6 boxes for the winter. DH cut, I assembled. The legs will be slipped over 1' rebar so the wind won't whisk them off! They aren't glued so I can take them apart for storage or to reconfigure. Tulle for cabbage moth protection, summer shade covers, etc. I will be spray painting them sage green so they blend in better. Now if I can only find some clips I will be set for all occasions. HD didn't have any. Tomorrow, off to Lowes, OSH, dollar stores, or ebay.

The trellis mesh has been raised so that plastic can be secured to the PVC. Only collards, kale, spinach and chard in this box.

sanderson, that is looking really good.

I found some pvc pipe covers that I used to hold the tulle to the pipe. I got them at a habitat restore, so not sure where to find them or what they are really called. They are like half of the pvc pipe, but made out of a thinner material, so they go around the pipe well. They worked good for me for the tulle, and will be using this for plastic for the winter also.

I found snap clamps on Amazon. prices arent to bad either.
Different diameters
search pvc snap clamps will get you there

jjocsak and Jimmy, Thanks. If I can't find something today, I'll order online. It's sprinkling and windy right now. Got to get on it.

Immediate solution: Office Depot Large Binder Clips at 50 cents a piece. $6/box of dozen. Right now we are having a cold wind storm so I don't think I will be cutting and fitting the plastic covers. But, at least I am ready to go tomorrow morning.

HD, Lowes, Fresno Ag, and OSH did not have the vine clamps in stock. I think I will look for them in the spring for my vertical plants. I don't mind using, and reusing, the green stretchy ties, but the clamps sure look easier.

The PVC clips would have looked good with my 1/2" PVC frames and I could have spray-painted them to blend in with the painted pipes. Next life time!
