Watermelon and cantaloupe in same 4x4 box question
Due to a heavy workload this spring and summer, I didn't plant until last month. I planted Malabar spinach in the north 4 squares with trellis, put in another trellis in the next northern 4 squares where I planted 4 personal sized watermelons (from seed) and then planted the rest of the squares with cantaloupe seed. I already have 7 decent watermelons growing on the trellis plus a few more babies and buds. I also have a few cantaloupes growing plus a 50 or so cantaloupe flowers. The question is since I have so many cantaloupes, will the bees create mutant melons because they are bouncing back from watermelon flowers to cantaloupe flowers?

I don't know if melons cross pollinate like squash do, so can't answer, but I'd LOVE to see a photo of your melon box & trellis!
Here's a website that may answer your question but I haven't read it myself:

Here are my two raised boxes on the patio. One has two trellises (four Malabar spinach on one trellis, four personal size watermelon on the second trellis, and 7 cantaloupe plants. The other has only one trellis and only 3 cantaloupe plants

The melons and cantalope may cross pollinate but won't affect taste this yr. But the seeds may give you a cross next yr.
