brugmansia or Angel's Trumpet anyone grow this?
I recently bought a potted brugmansia (common name: angel's trumpet) and have no idea how to grow the thing. It's supposed to be related to daturas, but does not carry the hallucinogenic compounds like the wild daturas of the Southwest US. Any information or advice will be appreciated. Nonna

My wife has been growing Angel Trumpets for years. Just plant in full sun and give it a lot of room as they get really big. Ours blooms in early fall and makes the whole yard smell sweet. Cut back at the ground after first heavy frost and cover base with leaves or other mulch.
If you look to the back of this picture behind the patio garden, you will see one of hers.

Thank you, Bob. I'm not sure we can plant ours in the garden, some years winter just gets too darn cold. From what you wrote, it would appear the brug will have to be potted up to a larger home, but one we can move inside the sunroom when it gets too cold. Do you suppose it will do well in Mel's Mix? Her's gets 10-12 feet tall and probably 6-8 feet wide, so I am not sure it will go indoors without some serious creativity. No telling how big it would get with MM
