Re: First ever tabletop garden
Alright, you figured out how to post a pic!
I love tabletops! It looks great to me; every garden needs a gnome. I tried an owl to keep the birds away; not only didn't it work, but I watched a deer knock it over with her nose!
Are you trying the red coffee can next to your tomato plant for watering purposes?

You did a great job on that garden. I like the fact that you made the extra effort to dress it up with flowers and figures.
Awesome Job!

You've got two threads going with nearly the same name; is that causing some confusion?
Maybe Rooster or camp can combine them next time they're here.

Hi boffer
The red coffee mug is the plant pot the tomatoes came in; and yes there for watering at their roots. No deers roaming around London boffer.
Foxes, squirrels and loads of cats though
Im glad you like my garden

First Ever table Top Garden
Well done Frenchbean.
Your garden looks great.
I had lots of challenges with photos for awhile, perservere as we all love to see pics.
I think I get more insperation from them than anything else.
My garden boxes are 3ft high so similar to table tops.

Re: First ever tabletop garden
You did a beautiful job on your tabletop. I lived in Northants for 2 summers and really enjoyed all the flowers I was able to grow and the lovely garden shops.
Another view of a tabletop garden. My back and I love gardening standing up. I have 10 tabletops and a variety of buckets, pots and cement mixing tubs planted.

Hi Kay thanks for sharing your photos of your large garden
Could you tell me how you made your covers. They look like old wagon canopy s from the wild west; seems to be very effective though

Re: First ever tabletop garden
They are indeed called cover wagons. I have two 10ft pieces of 1/2" pvc pipe attached to the sides of the beds with brackets. They are then covered with wedding veil tulle netting clipped on with binder clips from the stationary store. I keep this bug netting on until the plants that need pollinating start blooming and then remove it or move it down a row of squares if the whole bed does not need to be uncovered.

Re: First ever tabletop garden
DH just finished this 8'x 2' I.D. Table Top. This should be the first of 3 TTs in the dead-grass area. Weed fabric and artificial Fescue turf still need to be placed underneath before setting it up.
Re: First ever tabletop garden
Interesting design. Looks nice and sturdy. I really like how easy it is to access two-foot-wide beds.
What are you planning on planting in them?

Marc, I have no idea at this time of the summer. Some Dragon Tongue and 2 tomatoes are all I have planned so far. Still have work to do before it's ready for plants.
