Controlling White Powerdy Mildew using Lilly Miller Sulfur Dust
Hello Vegetable Lovers!
I ran across a youtube video this morning on fighting white powdery mildew https://youtu.be/2b0BbyhFkm4. I have had issues and crop loss due to WPM usually late August when we get the hot hazy and humid weather here in New England. I tried some dilute milk solutions last season, but ended up losing the battle and the majority of my families would-be squash supply for the winter months.
I am considering using Lilly Millers Sulfur Dust if/when the WPM arrives again. Has any one used this product? Concerns with using it? Any feedback is welcome. I'm rotating my squash beds this season, so I will be growing in a new area.
Question 2: I am looking to move my squash plants to where I have been growing snap peas the last few years. Any concerns with the squash being in the soil with higher nitrogenous compounds?
Thanks forum.
Wishing you bountiful harvests,

Re: Controlling White Powerdy Mildew using Lilly Miller Sulfur Dust
I'm thinking not so good. I found all these warnings that would turn me off to it: http://www.lillymiller.com/msds/2007/LM_Sulfur_Dust.pdf
As a prevention I've spritzed with baking soda, couple drops dish soap and water onto tops and undersides of leaves. It works OK if you do it before PM hits. Not so much after.
Here's a link with a few prevention ideas:
