Lowering soil pH with sulfur

Hello out there.....I am considering trying to lower my soil pH from neutral to about 6.5 by adding sulfur. Has anyone done it, how much do you need, what are the pitfalls, etc.

Quoting a soil testing lab I dealt with this summer:

"The routine recommendation is to incorporate 10 lbs. of finely ground elemental sulphur or 30 lbs. of iron sulfate per 1000 sf for every ½ to 1 pH unit decrease desired."

Have I ever done it? Nope. Don't need to with SFG.
