So, my garden boxes are currently frozen solid, but I have big dreams! I plan to dig out the old dirt on all three boxes and turn them into SFGs.

My husband asked what I wanted for my upcoming birthdate and was a little confused when I said worm castings. And moss. And compost. When I expalined that it would mean more tomatoes, he was completely in favor of it.

We live in a condo, so my garden space is fairly limited, so I need to make the most of it. I will be purchasing my plants at the local farmers market to get a jump on the season. That is, as soon as we can break through the ice.

glad you\'re here from another northerner. I know the feeling. My beds are under much white snow and the ground is frozen. I'm awaiting spring with great eagerness this year.
Buying your first plants is a good thing. Just remember than they will sell them even before they are ready to go outdoors so you may have to keep them inside for a week or two before hardening them off for the outdoors.
Good luck.

Your comment reminds me of a mistake I made with nursery starts one year.
The purchased ones were already hardened off, but I bought more than I could plant that day. Took the excess into the house to plant later and was almost 2 weeks before I could get weather and time to cooperate. Planted without rehardening them off. Disaster!!!! But the original day's planting grew well.

Kay
