Thanks everyone, should I use the light now even though they have not germinated yet for the 14-16 hour cycle on so that they will be used to the light rite away when they sprout? jjc

Hummm some seeds need dark to germinated & some look for light, just like some seeds need a cold period, before they will germinated  thinking wish I could tell you which ones need what but I don't really remember for sure. I start them all in a dark closet, if they don't do well I'll move the next tray to the light, only two this year I had trouble with were cucumbers and melons they germinated, then reached for the light so they are really leggy, also marigolds didn't germinated in the dark but came right up under the lights thinking
