Nope no pic's I don't have the time to fuse with photobucket anymore does look like we have a freeze warning for tonight, kinda in the middle down here in the deep south it's either cover everything and plant early or it too darn hot to grow anything, I've learned we really do have a very short growing season .I'm going to try covering my boxes and a 65ft x 50ft row garden too. I've got onions,& swiss chard ready now beans and squash that will have to be covered along with peppers, cantaloupe, pumpkins, cucumbers, beets & sweet corn, they are all up and doing well at this point,I'll be eating squash by Mother's day(early May)!! last year I picked vine ripe tomatoes on the 24th of Dec. hope to keep these plants going until at least the end of the year What a Face So really not a race just hope for a good gardening season this year tongue Harvest 3170584802

H Bob....If you upload pics on your computer, you don't need photobucket. You can upload direct from you computer. Just read the instructions. We'd love to see pics.
Your gardening season differs so much from ours. I love reading about you folks with green growing early in the year while I'm still buried in snow.
Good luck with your growing this year.

HillbillyBob here is a great instruction thread on how to post images on your computer: https://squarefoot.forumotion.com/t129-how-to-post-a-picture-located-on-your-computer
On my puter I have to click on a another popup screen to "allow" access to the image when I hit the copy button on the middle line. I also click the "up load" button before pasting the link in the reply box. This is due to the security settings on my computer. Hope this helps.

Harvest Empty Freeze Warning

Post  MikeOhlh 3/26/2013, 10:22 am

Yea, I feel the short season thing, we have had spring summer and fall in just the last couple months, lol. I put out cabbage plants when I thought it was too cold, and a couple weeks later it was 95. Now a week later, it's 35 this morning. Crazy spring. So far everything that is up is surviving, but not extremely happy. The only thing really thriving is the fire ants. And a half a million radishes ready to eat NOW, lol 🐷-out

Between your bean trellis and the house is a very tall, large enclosure. Mind if I ask - what is it?? My first and silly guess is an outdoor enclosure for a giraffe or macaws!! Razz

Hillbilly Bob, I just harvested my swiss chard this week, too! I planted it last fall after hearing it was a cool weather crop, but it didn't do much. It survived over the winter, but just didn't really take off until recently. We grew it as an experiment (we'd never eaten it before), just because I had some empty squares and decided to try it out. We now have a new favorite!
I know what you mean about the weather. A couple of weeks ago I planted my entire sfg- every seed that I had painstakingly babied since January and February- and Mother Nature decides to have some fun with the weather! I think I've used our frost blankets more in the past 2 weeks than we did all winter!! And we have 370 sq ft of raised beds to cover!! Shocked I had a watermelon vine get hit, along with a cantaloupe vine, but after pruning the damaged leaves away yesterday morning, I think they might make it after all. rock on I think Mother Nature just wanted a good laugh at all the spring breakers at the beach: "We drove for hours and spent hundreds to spend spring break sitting on a beach in Florida, and I'm going to the beach- I don't care if it's 50 degrees with 25 mph winds out of the north!"

Humm with that kind of wind you should be finding lots of seaweed on the beach,I've been thinking about driving down to the beach here in Texas just to collect some seaweed for my compost bin Laughing Rolling Eyes bounce glad to know there is at least a another who can't wait all winter to plant tongue build yourself a little hot box and you can grow swiss chard year around, paint the inside white to help it collect light, cover it with plastic unless you going to be gone for more than a day then just use a piece of row cover row cover Arg-19 will add a few degrees of temp plus water and light pass throught it but frost &bugs don't,just make a 12x12x12 inch box without the top works great to cover young plants Harvest 3170584802 Harvest 3170584802 thanks Harvest 1280598131
