Has anybody ever tried making these? I found a homestead site in Pasadena that sells these, but I am all about DIY. However, my construction expertise is more like Moe, Larry, and Curly, so maybe somebody else could give it a try.

Pretty darn cool! I wish my containers could spare some room for a clay pot. I'd love to try it. Let us know if you do.

I read about this over a year ago and wondered. How does the clay pot know when NOT to seep?
I like the concept, tho, burying a water supply and having it get used a bit at a time.
I was thinking on the lines of burying a 2-liter soda bottle filled with water, capped, upside down, with possibly pin-prick holes around the shoulders of the bottle so the water can seep into the surrounding roots. Isn't it about the same concept?
I am saving up bottles now so I can try this method in my raised beds this year. Maybe one bottle between 4 squares would be beneficial. I love experimenting.
