to the forum. The best advise I Gould give ya is get the book this forum is named after. It will give you the best chance for success with your first garden. Do NOT scrimp on the soil; it is the key to a great crop.

Welcome. I have to strongly endorse Pepper's comments.
The book ALL NEW SQUAREFOOT GARDENING is the how to manual for this forum. Although, at this point, you may want to check it out of the library as a new edition is due out on 15 Feb and can be pre ordered from the SFG Foundation website (see website in the green banner above) or Amazon.
I had never heard of SFG until I spotted the book at Lowes in the fall of 2010. Curiosity made be take the book to the outdoor furniture display, sit down and leaf through the book. It hooked me right away, especially the tabletop information and I bought it. I'm sooooooo glad I did. Enables these tired old bones and arthritic knees to continue gardening.
