Love it! My dad made Carrot Pies when I was in 5th grade, the year we had mutant Danvers 1/2 Longs with 5-6" diameter crowns, about 12" long main roots (not counting that thin thread on the end!). Dad steamed the carrots and we mashed them up and made the most beautiful bright orange pies. They were soooooo yummy!
My FIL had the same thing happen to him with Danvers 1/2 Longs, about 30 years after it happened to my dad's garden - and in a different state! I don't think they made pies. Too bad!
