New to Square Foot Gardening
Funny how one thing leads to another. I was 'googling' dwarf tomato and cucumber plant seeds that I can grow in containers in my greenhouse this winter which led me to this site. I have been gardening for years, with some success, but I must say I am intrigued with the square foot gardening method and wanting to learn more. I have been following the USDA hardiness zone map for the Mid Atlantic region since we live on a small peninsula near the Chesapeake Bay in a very small town called Ditchley; takes you 2 minutes to drive down our main thoroughfare. I am looking forward to learning and sharing on this forum.

Re: New to Square Foot Gardening
Welcome to the forum!
I too am new here, but not to SFG. I dabbled with it some in my younger years, but never got serious until now. I decided on an early retirement last year and now I have lots of time to devote my attention and learn all I can. I just now finished building a 4X4 table top SFG and hope to post it in the next day or 2. Can't wait until spring to start some serious planting in it.
This forum is a gold pot of knowledge and I have been reading back thru so many of the posts from time gone by. I wish you luck in this new finding and hope to see you around.

Hello Luffa Lady & Welcome!
When you have the chance browse around the site. In the "search" area you can find many answers from members that have been posted in the past. If you need any help with up loading any pictures, there is also a thread on here for that. Once you use it once or twice it is pretty easy. Have fun on here and we look forward to hearing from you!

Re: New to Square Foot Gardening
Hi & welcome,
I second the getting the latest book for I used to original method and mother earth.
This soilless growth mix ( usually called Mel@s Mix or MM ) blasts the pants off the use of mother earth soil if it is correctly made .
Check out the gallery for big stuff in the green strip /header line and see what I've grown in MM
