Hello everybody
Good morning everyone my name is mike and I'm new to the idea of SFG but not new to gardening. I have been gardening from childhood to present. I have just finished the new SFG book and I am so excited to start mine up. I am so glad to have ran across this forum that is dedicated to this idea of gardening as it seems very space efficient as I am a urban gardener and want me and my family to be self sustaining and grow our own veggies and some fruits that we can. Hope to chat and learn from you all thank you and hope you all have a wonderful day.

Welcome Treefrog! You will find many great people on here with valuable knowledge in doing SFG. We are just completing our first season as SFGer's and love it. If you have any questions about the forum site, or anything else, please don't hesitate to give a "shout-out"!

Re: Hello everybody
Thank you for welcoming me to the forum. I to love gardening and I am excited to implament the sfg technique into my new garden plan at the the house my family and I are moving into. Being permately disabled the sfg bed plans and techniques seem like they will be alot easier for me to do and still be able to yield alot of vegetables for my family and friends.

Re: Hello everybody
Treefrog! Wow, you are sure anxious to get gardening, that's great and smart thinking! You will enjoy yourself on this forum. There are so many wise and fun people and if they don't know the answer, they will try to help you find it! Square foot gardening will be so much easier for you than regular gardening, once you get set up. Even if you are having a bad day with your disability, you can do a minimal amount of work in your garden and even get a watering system set up. You will want to check out what people have done with automatic watering systems.

Be sure to check out the posts by Plantoid. He is the Regional Host for Europe, and has put up quite a few posts regarding his SFG'ing with physical limitations. Remember, even 5 minutes at a time will get things done! There are several others who have also described what they have had to do to make their gardens work for them with whatever challenges they face. All the forum members have been inspirations to me!

Re: Hello everybody
Welcome. The best advice I can offer is to invest in the book ALL NEW SQUAREFOOT GARDENING, if you haven't already. Then follow what it says. It is the how to manual for the gardeners on this forum and we find the system works. If you are in the HOME view of the forum, go to the left side where the latest topics are and hover. You will find some extremely helpful links.
