Making Smoothies
Here is my grandsons veggies he picked to make smoothies. He LOVES to pick stuff and make smoothies. He was at my bedside this AM asking, "Gramma, are we gonna make smoovies now??" LOL. He also learned to hand pollinate, but I cant get the picture to download.

What a beautiful childj, SG! And how lucky he is to have a grandma with a garden that he can 'help' with.

Re: Making Smoothies
thank you CC. He was so cute pollinating the "girls". He'd run around and say "Nammie, here's a girl, we need to "tickle" her". It was so cute, and such a great learning experience.
here he is making the final product

Hope this pic shows up, it's my grandson pollinating a zucchini squash with his little paintbrush. He quickly caught on how to tell the boy flowers from the girl flowers, and how to "tickle" the girls with the pollen. He's three!!

Re: Making Smoothies
Awesome! This was a big reason I started my garden-I did not want picky eaters. LOL My son (5) loves to come up with his own recipes. I write them down and if he likes them we put them we put them in his own recipe box, but If he doesnt like it he'll tell me that one is chopped (we watch a lot of cooking shows ) it's quite cute. He actually takes a few tastes and waits to think about it and then tells what he thinks.

Re: Making Smoothies
Due to biting the inside of my mouth I'm on smoothies for the next few days. Fortunately I have lots of frozen berries, pears, leafy greens, etc, left from the garden so will be using them up. Found these great recipes:

I would have mashed and frozen some cukes in ice cube trays if I'd been able to grow more than 5.

Re: Making Smoothies
My protein smoothie:
1 scoop EAS Advant Edge low carb whey protein (vanilla)
8-10 oz Unsweetened Almond milk
1 container (cup) Oikos Triple zero Greek yogurt (vanilla)
2 tbsp peanut butter. I use a sugar free powder
If I need extra fiber that day, I toss in 2 tbsp wheat germ. I've been known to add the slightest pinch of tumeric as well.
Also good with any type of berry, banana, spinach.

I am my gardens worst enemy.
