First Year Gardener
Good Morning All
I have 10 tomato plants. 3 in the raised bed the rest in pots.
Question.
Do potted plants need more water? And is it normal for the lower branches of the bush to keep yellowing? All the plants potted or in the ground will have branches on the lower part of the main stem turn yellow every few days. I sprayed the first few times then just started to clip them off. The top of the bush is full and filling to over flowing the cages and blooms and new fruit continue to appear. Is something wrong or is this a normal thing tomato plants go thru. I was wondering if i were over or under watering. I fertilize with fish fertilizer and Miracle Gro rotating between the two every other week. Both call for every 7 - 10 day retreat. I was thinking of putting 10-10-10 down as well. Any thoughts?
Thanks

Re: First Year Gardener
Sounds pretty normal to me. Glad you are getting fruit.
And yes, generally potted plants need more water because there is not enough soil to store the water and the roots. They can't draw on ground water sources.
