Carrot Seeds not sprouting
Hi All,
I planted Danvers carrot seeds on 5/23 in on of my SFG and they haven't sprouted yet. I've had great luck with carrots as well as almost anything else I've planted sprouting in a normal timeframe. Since not a single seed sprouted (and I planted many), any thoughts? Just amend the soil and try again with a new seed packet?
Thanks,
Tiffany

Rarely found in women but often found in a man.
Usually gernination is 21 days or so and it can then take another four to ten days for the grass like seedlings to appear.
If your as lucky as I've been ...... Some carrot seeds that were sown on 4 April have only just poked their head out the MM . Most of the other carrots I've sown are on par with that showing.
Try germination in a fungicide free jelly like KY jelly or a guar gum or xanthum gloopy paste in a clear plastic bag . get it all down into in a corner add your calculated dose of seeds .
Once the seeds have germinated in a warm dark cupboard in about five days add an egg cup full of water to the seeds/ jelly and gently work it into the mixture of seeds and gel.
Carefully snip a tiny corner off the bag and gently squeeze the sprouted carrots seds along a pre made pre watered grid that is about 1/2 inch deep . Cover over and gently water again .. they should be showing above the MM in about nine days.
I have made some guar gum jelly with some seaweed extract today and will start more carrots seeds in it tonight . For the weather here in the UK has been more like early March than mid June so far for most of this years growing season.
