Favorite tomato

What's your favorite tomato to grow, and why? Also, please include what zone you are in and if they do well there

Well, I'm still relatively new to gardening so I haven't tried too many tomato varities yet. That said, I'm really in love with sweet 100 cherry tomatoes. They're easy to grow and produce like wild. My plants were about eight feet tall last year and I got about half a pound of fruit a day from each plant at the height of the season. Plus, they're tasty, they don't split, they freeze beautifully, and they set fruit pretty early.

I also tried brandywine toms last year and liked them very much. They didn't produce too many tomatoes, but what they did produce was quite big. The flavor was mild and sweet and they were great for sandwiches.

I'm in western NY so our growing conditions are probably pretty similar.

I all tomatoes but my favorite would have to be pear tomatoes! They grow great here! I am in zone 5a!

My favorite that I've done so far is the Sun Gold. They are a beautiful orange in color, they produced like crazy well into October and the plants were very hardy (handling irregular watering, pests and diseases like a champ).

They tasted amazing and were very low in acidity. My mother-in-law has stomach issues but she's able to eat these without a problem, so that is a plus.

Ours grew to about 14' last year and I couldn't even keep up with pruning the suckers/stalks, but that didn't seem to affect fruit production whatsoever (though that might very well be a result of SFG as much as the plants themselves).
