BUMP!
So, I have 3 bunches of black raspberries (Jewel) in gallon containers waiting for this weekend to go into their own 2x8’ raised bed. I am getting conflicting information about their requirements.
Full sun or part shade? MI Gardener says part shade, but my packing information says full sun.

Re: Do raspberries have special needs?
From the Ohio State University Extension office:
"Raspberries should be planted in an open site that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight and placing them in areas with a day-long exposure is even better. Avoid planting raspberries within 300 feet of any wild blackberry or wild raspberry plants, and in areas where tomatoes, potatoes or eggplants have been grown in the previous year."

Re: Do raspberries have special needs?
Although I haven't yet reached a solution, raspberries, as well as blackberries, have a tendency to spread far and wide. I originally began with one raspberry plant in a cracked plastic pot. Well, the roots sneakily grew into the soil below, and voila! I soon had a 6' x 8' raspberry bed that would not be contained.
