New Grid Material

I used a composite material last year for my grids . It was some type of plastic trim material I purchased in Lowes. When I removed plants this spring, the grids began breaking.
I switched to a PVC Strip that is able to almost fold back on itself and not break. I drill holes through the ends and weave it into a grid lattice screwing the ends to the sides of my raised beds. They look good, will last a long time and run less than $7.00 for a 4x4 box.
They are called AFCO White 8' PVC Tile Board End Cap and are 2.11 at my local Lowes.

The problem with uncolored (white) PVC is that it gets brittle after long term exposure to sunlight. The little white pvc vents that you see coming out of peoples' roofs will break down if they are left unpainted. The little trim strips will more than likely do the same.

I used to use what is called "screen molding" a composite material that's covered by a plastic-y material. I've found that it snaps very easily too so I'm looking for something else.

Big T — I'll bet you are correct. I forgot about that. I have used PVC Pipe for various outdoor stands, etc and eventually had it almost shatter. Perhaps I should spray paint the grids on the boxes yet in the works.
