For the Birds
Soooooooo the birds around here are CRAZY! Lots of them, very active... is that a bad thing for my soon to be garden? Or will they keep bugs at bay? Just something I've been pondering.

Re: For the Birds
That depends on what you are growing...LOL...but probably...
If you have strawberries, you will probably want to cover them with some kind of netting (but be sure the holes are still big enough to let in pollinators) or they will get all of them. I just use the plastic netting with about 3/4 inch holes maybe (just guessing)...
I seem to currently be having a problem with birds swiping some of the seeds I've planted... (which I think means either they aren't deep enough or I need to cover them with some netting or tulle until they sprout...not sure which yet.)
Be aware that if you use tulle the pollinators can't get to them either...but not all plants need pollinators - tomatoes for example can be pollinated just by the wind or a light shaking of the vine...
One of the things I like about having the SFG is that you can take action to protect your plants easily if need be...
