Watermelon - how many?
I bought a started Watermelon transplant (Jubilee) about a week ago along with a cantaloupe. I planted them each in one square (with one between them)... the watermelon had three little seedlings as did the cantaloupe, but one broke so now it only has two. Well all three of the watermelon seedlings are thriving, but I'm pretty sure I need to remove at least one right? Do I need to reduce both down to one plant? I've considered leaving the Cantaloupe alone at two and reducing the Watermelon to two... but wasn't sure if that was a good idea or not?

Re: Watermelon - how many?
The rule of thumb I have is 1 melon per 2 s/f but I would be tempted to do what you are doing. Try two on the trellis and see what I get! So how is that for clear as mud?
Re: Watermelon - how many?
I would reduce it to ONE plant. These will both feed on the same source and you'll get two meager plants instead of one good healthy plant. Been there, done that.
