Anywhoo.....

I've been to dozens of garden centers over the years and I always see plant tags that say "Deer Resistant" but do you think I can remember what they were? Heck no

Maybe this link will be useful for you.....

You're quite welcome.

I'm going to another garden center tomorrow and if I see anything there labeled "deer resistant" I'll let you know what it is.

Bout the the only time I caught sight of any deer near my table tops they was walking down the neabors driveway about 10 feet away. Not sure why they just seemed disinterested in eating anything, I've been told by people around here that hostas are like candy to a deer never in the 4 years i've lived here we have never lost one to a deer.

Janet, since they don't like human smells (thinking back to my DH's hunting days), have you tried things like cayenne pepper or coffee grounds?

I would also think moth balls around the area would keep them away.

you know back to another discussion, I have this OLD bottle of progesterone, someone here said that mensing females kept deer away and that perhaps THAT was the hormone that was involved.
SO I was thinking I have some progesterone, think I might try it.....

Have lived many decades on many small family farms (doing traditional row gardening) and found that "human" scents (hair from my Uncles barbershop, sweaty T-shirts, and "used" feminine products did NOT work as well as mothballs or cotton balls soaked with pure peppermint oil. (Mothballs were much less expensive ... probably still are) However, the pure peppermint oil worked much better.

Renew after a heavy dew or rainfall.

(peppermint oil also works against mice and ladybugs in your home RV in the off-season and it's not a poison like mothballs are)

use peppermint essential oil which is typically available at health food stores. Try Whole Foods if there is one near you.
